Brooklyn Invitational 2015

All of these kids in France are dressing like kids in Brooklyn. While the kids in Brooklyn are dressing like motorcycle builders. Much of the classic American rebelry draws upon moto-culture inspiration. You cant envision a blue collar guy and not envision him without a motorcycle. The bad boy style that we know today is inspired by the rebel image and the rebel spirit was driven by their motorcycles. Think Marlon Brando in "The Wild One," James Dean in "Rebel without a cause," even the guy in Jurassic Park! He had a motorcycle...sure it was Triumph but you get our point. The motorcycle that you choose is a derivative of your spirit. The "black leather jacket" aka the motorcycle jacket has been an every season staple in every fashion week. Even motorcycle pants have endured a nice wave jolt from Balmain to Belstaff. Look at Red Wing to .... Wolverine whatever you wear. All of these hipsters wear them thinking its cute. The reason we wear them... its the closest thing to perfection without sacrificing

"Garage Built" culture is -- to the motoworld -- what underground hip-hop has been to the music arena.  Throughout the U.S., there are there an ever-growing amount of places where you can find great garage-built motorcycle showcases.

From the One Moto Show in Portland, Born Free in Silverado, Hand Built in Austin, and Mamma Tried in Milwaukee -- you shouldn't have a hard time finding one in a nice ride's distance.  Unless you are on the East Coast, where wading through your favorite aficionado's Instagram, Facebook or other social media internets have until recently been the only options for those of us on the Atlantic side of things to "be there."  Well, just as drones of people flock to the North East for a glimpse of Autumn foliage in the coming months,  so does the majestic East Coast moto-enthusiast -- All hoping to get a fleeting glimpse of glory.

This year's Brooklyn Invitational did not disappoint. Even the walk up to the venue was filled with eye catching mechanical candy.  From paint schemes to seat configurations, the streets were littered with visual wonder. The best thing about accidental art is,  through the artist work, we are allowed a window into their minds.  Some of these bikes should be considered no less art than the Mona Lisa.  The Mona Lisa won't make you feel bad ass, though.  Not to be overlooked or under-spoken, is the view able impact this culture has had on the fashion world.  That whole "I woke up like this" dress concept basically takes from this culture of creators. Here are some of our favorite sights and styles at the Brooklyn Invitational.
